Back to School Teacher’s Gift

Hello, SugarPea friends, it’s Amy with today’s Design Team Feature post.  I’ve got a fun little back-to-school project to share with you using one of my new favorites from SugarPea Designs – the SugarCut – Letter Message Board, so many possibilities!

I’ve had this apple frame in my stash for literally years and years. Actually, I think I bought a few of them at the time and had one left, so I decided to make a teacher name frame with it. The size of the SugarCut – Letter Message Board is just perfect for the name I chose, “Miss Honey”.  Anyone know the name of the movie that stars a “Miss Honey”?

After die cutting the message board from black cardstock, I trimmed it to fit inside the frame and backed it with an additional layer of black cardstock for added stability. I then die cut the letters using white fun foam to resemble a real letter board and positioned her name smack dab in the middle.  The lines of the message board make it a cinch to line things up evenly.  I then die cut the pencil from SugarCut – Notebook Journal Card in scraps of yellow, gray and kraft cardstock and just the eraser end in pink fun foam. After assembling the pencil, I colored in a pencil tip using a black marker and attached it to the front of the frame as shown.  Finally, I embellished with my favorite wood veneer stars because we all know Miss Honey is a star!

Thanks for stopping by the SugarPea blog today.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my project and have a great weekend!

~Amy

No, I don’t know any movies, but I did know an actual person named Miss Honey. She was a teacher where I used to work and that was what the students and all staff called her– Miss Honey. Her full was Honeylette. =)
