Distress inks have been around for awhile, but if you are a colorist like may of the SugarPea Design team members, you may have ignored them. However, a bunch of us colorists have finally started to dabble with them and we all agree that were silly not to try them sooner!
Jenny Peterson, one of our amazing colorists, was inspired to give the distress inks a try after she was forced out of her comfort zone when we sent her our newest line of stamps and SugarCuts Dies from the Sweet Chic Collection. Check out the amazing results!
What a gorgeous backdrop Jenny created to showcase the die cuts from the SugarCuts – Heart Journal Card Set and the SugarCuts – Special Delivery Accents! And I love how she stamped all the little envelopes from the Special Delivery stamp set to create the panel behind the distressed circular background!
Our designer Anita Madden made the leap and tried out some distress inks and incorporated them into her designs while still not giving up her copics and the results are A-MAZ-ING!
She created this amazing scene for our cute little moose from the Merry Christmoose stamp set with the help of some distress inks! I love how she lightly stamped the snowflakes onto the distressed ink sky!
We hope that we’ve given you a little encouragement to try your hand at distress inks if you haven’t already! We would love to see what you create! Share your creations with us on our Facebook page, play along with the latest SugarSketch Challenge, or upload your creations to Splitcoaststampers and be sure to use the keyword SPD so we can find your work!
