Hi there! Kerin here with you today, and I’m sharing a card using a fun technique and the Geo Floral CoverPlate SugarCut. I began by embossing the Geo Floral CoverPlate SugarCut instead of cutting it all the way through. The machine you use to die cut will determine what “sandwich” you’ll use for this. I was using the Gemini and the sandwich was as follows: Base Cutting Plate, Plastic Shim, CoverPlate (facing up), paper, Rubber Embossing Mat, Clear Cutting Plate.
Next I colored in the geometric design with Copics:
For the “flowers”: YG01, YG05, YG07
For the “squares” in between:
The finished product before embossing:
After the full design was colored, I applied VersaMark ink over the entire image, then coated it in clear embossing powder and heated it to set. I applied VersaMark again and added another layer, to give it a bit of a tile look. I added the Hello SugarCut in black cardstock and some white and black cardstock layers to make it pop.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
