Hi everyone! It’s Laura here, and today I am back with a fall thank you card and a video tutorial in which I show how I painted these autumn leaves with Distress Inks.
The stamp set that I used is the SugarPea Designs Eucalyptus Wreath. I die cut some Canson XL watercolor cardstock with the Card Front Element Builder 2 set and then embossed the wreath with gold embossing powder.
Next, I did some watercoloring with Distress Inks: I used Scattered Straw, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick, Crushed Olive and Forest Moss. Make sure to check out the video at the end of this post for more details on the painting process!
Once the painting was over, I added some droplets with my Distress Inks and my gold Gansai Tambi Starry Colors. I also blended some Distress Ink in Vintage Photo on the edges of the cardstock to add to the fall theme of this card.
For my sentiment I used the Grateful Greetings stamp set and the Grateful die. I cut some brown cardstock and heat embossed the sentiment in gold. To die cut the sentiment strip, I used the Sentiment Strip die, that fit perfectly with the size of my greeting.
As a very last step, I created some berries around the wreath with Nuvo Drops in the color Autumn Red.
As I mentioned, there is a video for you, showing how to create this fall inspired thank you card with Distress Inks and the watercolor technique. And don’t forget to subscribe to the SugarPea Designs channel for more inspiration!
Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

August 23, 2019 at 6:12 pmI just wanted to comment on how beautiful this card for the Fall season turned out. I appreciate you taking the time to film a video of your process. Watercoloring has always been difficult for me, but after watching you, I may give it another try. Thanks also for introducing me to two new stamp sets that are now on my “must order” list. I will go back and see what the other sets of “Grateful Greetings” are like. Thanks again.
