It’s Lexa here again with another card for SugarPea Designs. Today I’m going to show you one of my most favorite technique for backgrounds, which is probably everyone’s favorite too! It’s so much fun to create a watercolor background, and there’s no rules so just be creative!
I choose Peacock Feather, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Inks to create the color combination. I also used the Large Striped CoverPlate in front of my watercolor background to add stripes. The oval part is perfect for the gnome’s house from the Gnome Sweet Gnome stamp set, which is an older stamp set from SugarPea Designs. I have so much fun coloring detailed images like this. After I finished coloring, I fussy cut them one by one and adhered them with foam tapes to add dimensions.
After stamping the sentiment (I love the puns!), I also added some Nuvo Drops in aqua to finish.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have an amazing day!

March 5, 2018 at 12:12 pmI love your water colour background and the use of the Large Striped Cover plate die. But I am so glad that you have brought back an old favourite stamp ‘Gnome Sweet Gnome’. He is absolutely adorable. Thank you for sharing this with us crafters. :O)
