Hello, it’s me again, Nicole.
Wow, time flies by… this is my fourth guest design blog post! I hope you enjoyed seeing my past projects as much as I enjoyed making them. But now, let’s have a look at today’s card. 🙂
I really love coloring flowers. I can spend hours painting every petal separately, mix colors and add shading to make it look more three dimensional. But not everyone feels safe to paint shadows on a flower and sometimes we just don’t have the time to color for hours…
This Pretty Peonies stamp set does most of the job for you! It already comes with the shaded leaves. All you have to do is to color the flower in a lighter ink and then emphasize the shadow areas with a darker shade. The stamp set takes all the guess work out of where to put shadows. Isn’t this great?!
I colored my image with watercolor markers and a water brush. I started with strokes of ink where the shadows are and blended the color out using my water brush. My background is also made with watercolor markers. I just scribbled some ink on a glass mat and picked it up with a wet brush.
I kept the rest of the card quite simple, as the peony is a wonderful focal point on its own.
Thanks a lot for stopping by!
Have a colorful day,
Nicole
