Happy Birthday Carnival

Hello, SugarPeeps! It’s Kelly here today sharing a bright and colorful birthday design using one of my new all-time favorites; Elephant Parade! This most likely doesn’t come as a surprise to you since my last 2 cards have been made with it! LOL! I just love how easy and fun it is to create all kinds of sweet scenes to delight people of all ages!

To begin today’s design, I die cut a panel of white cardstock using the CarnivalScape SugarCut and then ink blended the bottom portion using Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink. I also die cut another panel using the Card Front Element Builder and did the same ink blending. This set the stage to add in all of the cute critters and their birthday antics!

I stamped the images in black and then colored them using an assortment of Copic markers in bright, fun colors! Once they were colored, I die cut them using the coordinating Elephant Parade SugarCuts and used foam squares to give them some added dimension.

I like using a lot of dimension when creating scenes like this to give them the depth they need to really pop! Once I had everything in place, I layered the focal panel onto a piece of red cardstock that is die cut using the Card Front Element Builder. I also die cut the blue striped piece, which is from the Spots and Stripes Brights Patterned Paper pad, with the same die cut set. I really like the finished, detailed edges that it gives to my designs.

I used my Wink of Stella to give some sparkle and shine to the sweaters, ball, and Ringmaster’s platform. I also added a few sparkling clear sequins here and there for some additional sparkle.

My favorite part of the entire card is the ball that this pair is passing between themselves! I added a layer of Crystal Glaze to really make it shine and give it some realism! I had so much fun on this design!

This is such a fun card! I love how you colored the main scene and the carnival in the background is great. 🙂
