Hi friends, it’s Monday so I’m back again on the Sugar Pea Design blog with my third card of the month!
You may have noticed I love their bear collection so much, so here I am with another Christmas themed card!
When I saw the standing bear of the “Hey Spring” stamp set with his arm raised, I instantly thought of him decorating a Christmas tree. And what’s better than adding the baby bear from “Hey Winter” and some Christmas gifts? I wanted to create a one-layer card, so I carefully stamped the images starting from the foreground (I firstly stamped the scarf), masking them and moving back in the scene. I obviously used an alcohol friendly paper as I wanted to color with copics. It was really satisfying removing the masking tape and revealing the partial scene!
I then started coloring the tree: I must say I was inspired by an amazing tutorial by Sandy Allnock, she is really incredible with copics. I colored everything and I added details using a white gel pen. Can you imagine my favourite part of the coloring process? Adding the moose on the bear’s sweather! It looks perfect for Christmas. I also used a Black Glaze pen to define the bear’s eyes, I love hoe they really “pop out”.
I then cut the scene to a 4”x5,75” (I usually start from a bigger piece of paper and then cut it to the size I like most) and I stamped the sentiment – which comes from “Hey Winter” too – in the upper right side. To complete the card, I added a stripe of red cardstock on the left. I love the final result of the scene!
I really hope you will like my first inspiration. I will be back next week for my last inspiration post!
