Hi everyone! It’s Laura here, and today I am thrilled to be sharing my first post as a new member of the Sugar Pea Designs DT! For this special occasion I decided to create a colorful and cheerful birthday card using the Otterly Adorable stamp set.
As a first step I stamped the images with Versafyne Onyx Black Ink, heat embossed them with clear embossing powder, and colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Once I was done coloring I die cut them with the coordinating dies.
I created the background for my images using alcohol inks, and die cut it with one of the dies in the Zig Zag Stitched Circles. For the card base I used the Card Front Element Builder: I used the scalloped rectangle to cut some white cardstock, and the stitched rectangle to cut some turquoise cardstock.
To add some more interest to this panel I repeatedly stamped some of the smaller images in the Otterly Adorable set using Versamark ink. This way I created subtle patterned paper effect, that adds interest to the card without drawing attention away from the focal point. To add dimension to the project I popped the white panel up with some foam tape.
I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a strip of black cardstock and used Nuvo Drops to add some fun finishing touches.
And that’s my card for today! I really hope you like this post, and I hope I inspired you to create with the cute Otterly Adorable stamp set!
Thank you all so much for stopping by, and have a great day!
Laura

I enjoyed the technique of using the tiny stamps to create a subtle background! The alcohol inked circle and the Nuvi drops were perfect!
