Hi everyone! It’s Laura here and today I am back with an easy birthday card I created with the new Balloon Numbers stamp set and papers from the Spots and Stripes Brights and Sugar and Spice collections! This cards is easy and quick to make and, because of its color palette, I think it would work both as a feminine and as a masculine birthday card! There is also a video tutorial for you at the end of this post, showing the step by step cardmaking process.
I started off by die cutting all the elements for my design. I used the Card Front Element Builder dies to add a stitched detail to the yellow striped paper (the SugarPea Designs paper pads already come in A2 size). For the aqua banner I used the Stitched Flags dies and for the tag and the two little banners on the top of the card I used the Enjoy Tag set.
The balloon images are part of the Balloon Numbers stamp set – such a great one for birthday and celebration cards! I stamped some of the images on Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink and colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers. Once I was done coloring the images, I die cut them with the coordinating dies.
I die cut the sentiment enjoy using dies from the Enjoy Tag die set and then started assembling the card. I glued all the patterned paper die cuts together and then stamped the balloon strings in the appropriate positions. Only at this point I went ahead and glued down the balloons as well.
As a finishing touch I coated all the balloons with a Spectrum Noir Clear Overlay pen and the HB2U balloons with Glossy Accents.
