Hi Crafty Friends!
It’s not that often that I’m able to spend time getting crafty these days. Mostly my days are FULL with family and working to bringing new SPD goodies to you all. But when I do have the time, I realize just how much I miss it and need to MAKE the time.
My sister made a request that I create a masculine card that she could give to her husband for their anniversary. I was excited for the challenge and since my brother-in-law is a rugged manly outdoorsy guy, I immediately thought of our new Timber stamp set and SugarCuts – Log Cabin Mountainscape.
I started by watercoloring a sky background that I cut using the SugarCuts – Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles. I then cut the Log Cabin Mountainscape die twice. Once using white cardstock which I colored with Copics and again with SugarPuff to layer behind. What’s SugarPuff?!?! Oops! I spilled the beans didn’t I? SugarPuff is a brand new product that we are excited to bringing to you next month, but basically it is 3×4 sheets of 3mm white craft foam that is perfect for adding depth, dimension and stability to your projects. The SugarPuff cuts like butter through any die cutting machine. My entire background scene (trees, mountain tops, etc.) are all fully supported and won’t bend like it would if I had tried adding foam tape behind to create dimension.
My handsome lumberjack was colored with Copics and then placed atop of a SugarCut – Zig Zag Stitched Circle which was first cut with the Woodgrain Journal Card to create the embossed woodgrain texture.
Friends, make sure to check back here again tomorrow for our 2nd Birthday Bash Celebration!! We have some AMAZING prizes to giveaway and trust me when I say that you don’t want to miss all of the crafty inspiration from our Design Team and Guests!!
