June Meant To Be Sent

Social distancing is now a part of our every day lives and I believe sending handmade cards is a wonderful way to fill that space between us. I know there is someone that we all miss seeing during this time, so participating in this month’s theme should be an easy one for us all. My card has been sent to my sister who recently moved states away.

For our Meant To Be Sent challenge, SugarPea Designs products are encouraged, but are not required to be eligible for the giveaway. All we ask is that you follow the theme and MAIL your card!

I chose one of my favorite stamp sets, Quackers for my Missing You themed card because the puny sentiment says it all. I created the background by first creating a circle mask. I used one of the sloped edges of the Outdoor Scene Builder Stencil to brush Worn Lipstick and Lemonade Squeeze ink to create a sunset. I then switched to the Waves Stencil to brush Mermaid Lagoon ink to create the water.

I colored the adorable and playful little duck images from Quackers with Copic markers and then cut it them with the coordinating SugarCut – Quackers die. I also stamped the duck images once again onto the background in Mermaid Lagoon ink. The duck images were mounted with foam tape for dimension but the little ducky with his bum in the air is on a mini action wobbler that I trimmed down to add a little more whimsy and fun. And what’s more fun than a wiggly duck bum?!?

I used the large piercing edge die from the Card Front Element Builder II – SugarCut die set for my card panel, heat embossed my sentiment in white and added a few randomly placed Clear Nuvo drops to finish things off.
