Good morning! Ardyth here with this week’s Light Bulb Moment!
This week’s card uses Distress Inks in two different ways – blended and watercoloured. I started by using two of the edge dies included in Card Front Element Builder to create a wave shape out of watercolour cardstock.
I blended 3 colours of Distress Inks on the wave and then spritzed it with water to create texture and interest.
Next, I stamped some of the otters from Otterly Adorable with black pigment ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. This helps to create ‘walls’ for the watercolour when painting. When I’m painting with Distress Inks, I get the paper wet first and then lay in the colour, moving it until I’m happy with the shading.
I added another panel of watercolour cardstock blended with the darker shades of blues directly to my card base and then popped up the wave. I cut out the otters with the matching dies and then adhered and added some star fish.
For the sentiment, I cut out the smallest Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle and then used a stamp positioner to ensure proper placement.
