Hello friends! It’s Kelly here and I’m sharing another fun twist on a Graduation design! I’m totally in love with this little croissant holding balloons and I knew that I could make something fitting for a graduate with the perfect sentiment! I was thrilled to use another one of the sentiments included in the Sending Sentiments! I’m having too much fun with all of these new sets! It’s always fun when a design comes out just as you envisioned in your head!
To begin, I cut a piece of cardstock a bit larger than an A2 card front and did some ink blending using Distress Oxide ink. I love the color gradiant in these hues. Once it was blended, I used the Eyelet Coverplate to die cut the blended panel. I die cut it a second time using the scalloped portion from the Card Front Element Builder. I have used both of these quite a bit, but I am in love with them paired together! I spritzed it with shimmer spray and then added Nuvo drops to the centers of each of the “flower” sections of the die cut. I set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the elements.
I used another one of the pieces of the Card Front Element Builders to create the white portion for the card base. It is subtle, but I love the look it gives the edges of my cards and the extra stability it provides when it is adhered to my card base. I also created a white frame using two sizes of the Stitched Rectangle SugarCuts.
I stamped and colored the croissant image which is from another favorite: Ooh La La. Once the image was colored, I die cut it using the coordinating Ooh La La SugarCuts.
I heat embossed the “Congratulations” sentiment in gold powder onto the white frame I created earlier. I also heat embossed the “sending” portion onto a strip of sheer vellum and wrapped it around the frame and secured it with adhesive. The eyelet piece was dry, so I was able to attach the frame and the colored image using foam squares for dimension.
I added a few gems to the card as well as some glaze and chunky glitter to the balloons for some added sparkle and shine! I really like how this came out! I hope you will try combining some different SugarCuts on your cards to get some fresh results and to get more mileage from your supplies.
