Peace and Joy

Welcome everyone! Jennifer Timko here with today’s inspiration for you. In my last post, I shared with you some Christmas trees made using the SugarCut – Piece of Cake die set. Today I am giving you another sample using the same concept.

Two of my favorite things in crafting are multi-tasking products and cards with a fun surprise element. I combined both of those here. Using the triangle and banner from the SugarCut – Piece of Cake, it was easy to create this tree cut out. Just cut the triangle and the position the banner where you want the trunk and cut again. I pondered some choice on how to “fill” the tree but decided that creating a shaker card was pretty much required.

I chose some iridescent sequins from my stash. First I attached some acetate behind the tree panel. I built up foam tape right around the edges of the tree and added sequins and then attached another piece of card stock that matched the base/tree panel. I find it easier to build a shaker this way instead of trying to place the shaker elements down directly onto the base (where it usually ends up askew and making me stressed). Once I had that self-contained shaker, I easily attached it to the base. Finally I stamped a sentiment from the Flurry of Warm Wishes Stamp Set and attached it to the top.

I hope that you all get a bit of Peace and Joy in these stressful times. I know that crafting helps me find my center and I hope that this hobby brings you the same happiness. Thanks so much for stopping in today!
