Hello! It’s Kelly here today, sharing a fun, fall design just perfect to get you in the Thanksgiving spirit! Thanksgiving was always a BIG deal growing up and I have such a fondness for it! I’m equally fond of all of the darling images included in the Fall Fox stamp set, which I just noticed is on sale! Yay! I couldn’t let the season pass by without creating a card using these fabulous images! These cute foxes have stolen my heart!
I am smitten with this adorable “pumpkin spice” sentiment and knew I wanted it to take center stage,! I was hoping to achieve a “chalkboard” look, so I used my MISTI to help me execute this. To begin, I placed a piece of black cardstock inside my MISTI that had already been prepped with my embossing buddy to reduce static. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink and then heat embossed it using white detail powder. Once that had cooled, I placed it BACK into my MISTI and stamped over the embossing using white pigment ink Once that was done, I used my finger to smear the white ink a little bit around the sentiment. I love the result!
You can see the smudges a little bit better in this photo. Once all of that was done, I die cut it using the Zig Zag Stitched Circles and set it aside and got to work on the rest of the card elements. I stamped all of the fox images, leaves, and pumpkins and got to work coloring them using an assortment of alcohol markers.
I used the coordinating Fall Fox Sugarcuts to die cut all of the images. I also used the Card Front Element Builder SugarCuts to create all of the background pieces.
I did some blue ink blending on the curved panel. I absolutely love an Autumn sky and I just love the contrast it gives between the orange background. I don’t normally use two sentiments on the front of a card, but with this particular layout, it felt natural to incorporate the two and I just love the result!
Of course I couldn’t forget the inside, so I added some additional images as well as the “Grateful, Thankful, Blessed sentiment. It just really reinforces the Thanksgiving feel of this card! I can’t wait to get this one popped into the mail and on its way to a special someone!
