Hi Friends!
It’s almost Valentines Day, so if you haven’t yet created a card for that someone special, well, you best get busy!
I was busy yesterday creating Valentines along with my two children Nathan (9) & Brooke (7) for them to pass out today during their Valentines Day parties at school. They chose PopRocks as their little candy treat, so that inspired me to create some ROCKIN’ Valentines Day cards using the Classroom Cupids stamp set.
I started by creating the cards using the SugarCuts – Notebook Journal Card die. The stationary geek in me still swoons every time I play with this die set. Mass production was was a breeze and having some small personal assistants helped too. 😉 Next, I created the notebook lines using the Noted stamp set. I wanted to use our recently released SugarCuts – Stitched Flags, I chose cardstock that coordinated with the ink colors and stamped To: onto it.
I knew I wanted a little sparkle, ’cause hey, Valentines should sparkle, right?!? But my son was not to thrilled with that design feature. LOL So we put our heads together and he agreed that some foiled sentiments would not completely ruin his playground cred.
We sponged glue onto our sentiment, placed a piece of Decofoil on top and ran it through the Minc Mini. Results were fabulous but not always perfect – which only added to the charm. To mix things up we alternated using silver and gold foil to each of the cards.
A few randomly placed enamel dots and a stripe of glittery washi tape and we had some pretty fabulous Valentines if I do say so myself. 🙂 Now, most of theirs turned out quite different than mine but I loved watching as they played around with a style they liked and making it their own. I really enjoyed the time the kids and I spent together creating these.
