Fire up the grill because nothing says summer quite like a BBQ. Our King Of The Grill sentiment set features a wide variety of sentiment choices to create invitations for your Independence Day cook-outs, summer celebrations, birthday cards, and more.
This 12 piece die set features everything you need to create the perfect backyard BBQ. You’ll love creating summer sizzling BBQ scenes with a variety of beverages, condiments, a tasty selection of meats and grilling accessories.
Believe it or not, masculine cards are some of my favorite cards to create and I had the best time ever creating my sample cards for today! There are so many fun creative possibilities with the products we’re introducing today and when they’re paired together you’ll have the perfect recipe for those difficult masculine cards.
I started by cutting white and green cardstock using the pierced panel die from SugarCut – Card Front Element Builder II. Using the stitched curved die from SugarCut – Card Front Element Builder I, I created a grassy hill scene which I lightly sponged with Peeled Paint Oxide Ink and spritzed with water. I quickly sponged a few clouds onto the white cardstock panel using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. The sun and cloud were created using the SugarCut – Whatever The Weather die set cut from yellow cardstock and the Spots & Stripes Brights Patterned Paper Pad.
I stamped the Grill Master images with Momento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them with Copics. My husband was practically born with a 5 o’clock shadow (LOL) so I thought it would be fun to give this hunky guy one too! 🙂 His apron was paper pieced with the red & white gingham from the Countryside Charm Patterned Paper Pad. This is such a fun technique that I hadn’t used in a while. I added Wink of Stella to the grate in the grill and a silver pen to the legs of the grill and spatula to create a little shimmer and interest. I stamped my sentiments onto the Whatever The Weather cloud and a SugarCut – Sentiment Strips, which I then heat embossed and popped up with foam tape.
After I had created my next card, my husband saw it and declared that we should have a BBQ next month and he wants me to send these out as invitations. And because of how quickly this card came together, I agreed!! 🙂
I once again started by cutting white and green cardstock but this time I used the stitched panel die from SugarCut – Card Front Element Builder I. I used the scrap piece from the Countryside Charm Patterned Paper Pad to create a picnic blanket and stamped my sentiment from King of The Grill in Versafine Onyx Black ink.
Typically I will break apart my tabbed dies, but this time I kept the entire Backyard BBQ die set intact which I believed helped to make creating this card easier and so much faster. I cut the die multiple times with my chosen cardstock colors and then set about assembling my scene. Simonne Clay designed this fabulous Backyard BBQ die set and she brilliantly created open spaces so that you can shade some of the elements in this die set with inks to create dimension. You can see where I did that on the condiment bottles, the grill and beer bottle. I once again added Wink of Stella to the inside of the grill for a little shimmer and adhered the die cut pieces with foam tape for dimension.
