Welcome to our very first Sweet Talk segment. This will be a monthly feature where one of our SugarPea Designers will share with you a little about themselves and a technique or tip designed to inspire and spark your creativity.
Today we are with the incredibly talented, Tracy Valure!
Tracy is known for her mad coloring skills and gorgeous card designs – but today we get to take a little peek at her everyday life.
I’m Feeling…
Sick! The pollen has been atrocious this year here in South Florida. My allergies are definitely keeping me down!
I’m Wishing…
I was on vacation somewhere. Somewhere that is preferably warm, maybe a Caribbean cruise or Key West.
I’m Loving…
Coffee!! I was never a coffee drinker but I have become one in the past couple of months. I feel like I have missed out all my life and now I can’t get enough. Starbucks has become my new friend.
I’m Creating…
Cards. Although, I have been buying some mixed media items lately I just need time. Sigh!
I’m Reading…
Crashed, Book 3 from the Driven Series by K. Bromberg. It’s slightly smutty. You need a little smut here and there.
I’m Watching…
Dexter, Season 6. Yes I am guilty of binge watching on Netflix shows. This is my newest addiction. But, I ONLY watch it if I am stamping. I feel like I am getting something done while I stamp. So no guilt (except when I walk by the laundry room).
Now that I’ve shared a little bit about me, now it’s time for me to share trick I learned to get a crisp, clean image with my clear stamps.
I work on a folding table sometimes and it never fails this is what I end up with. The middle of my stamp didn’t transfer. If it’s just a tiny piece I will grab a copic multi-liner and fix it, but when it’s something large like this, there is NO fixing it.
SugarPea Designs stamps are clear photopolymer stamps. I happen to LOVE clear stamps because I can see right where I am stamping. Some rubber stamps have a foam backing. Which give your stamps a little cushion and help in getting a clear image. You can create that same effect by purchasing a piece of thin foam from your local craft store.
I place my cardstock on top of the foam.
Stamp your image as you normally would.
Tracy used the newly released, Love You Bunches from our Sweet P Collection.

March 14, 2014 at 6:24 amFantastic! Loved hearing of the things you like and more about you. I am also a devout coffee drinker for a long time!! 🙂 And have seasonal allergies. Pollen is NOT my friend! Love your card and how you colored the image and the idea on the foam stamping sounds great! I will try it!

March 14, 2014 at 10:28 amHi Tracy. I’m a fairly new stamper and what I found works for me is an old mouse pad that gives just a little. Thank you for your inspirations and thank you Wendy for your great stamps!

March 16, 2014 at 2:23 pmWow! What a great trick! Love this idea!!! I laughed at the “guilty walking past the laundry room”…I am with you on that account. I need to set up a tv in my stamp room so I can stamp and watch…sounds soothing!
