Hi SugarPeeps! It’s Kelly here today! I hope our American friends are all having a fun and safe Independence Day! I’m thrilled to be here today sharing this bold floral design using the amazing new Meadow Motifs stamp set and coordinating Meadow Motifs SugarCuts. I am so happy to have such a beautiful floral set to create cards for so many occasions! One of my favorite types of cards to make are “thinking of you” because they can be used for a variety of reasons.
During the release, I had so many ideas that I wanted to implement using this new set, and I am happy to be sharing one of them with you today. To begin this bold design, I added black paint splatter to a white cardstock panel that measures 4 by 5 1/4 inches. I set that aside to dry and got to work die cutting the Diagonal Striped CoverPlate out of black cardstock. I adhered it to the white panel using liquid glue. I really like using liquid glue for this step because it gives me some wiggle room to get it lined up just right. There’s nothing worse than having to rip up a delicate die because it got stuck down incorrectly.
While that was drying, I die cut a black circle using the Zig Zag Stitched Circles SugarCuts and attached it to the striped panel using foam squares. The “thinking of you” sentiment, which is from the Everyday Sentiments stamp set, is heat embossed in white onto a black strip of cardstock. I placed it on the circle with foam squares in the bottom right corner so that the “you” sentiment would line up properly.
I die cut the SugarCut-You 3 times and glued them together with liquid glue. I added it slightly over the top of the sentiment strip with foam squares for added dimension. I really like cards with a lot of depth!
All of the images are stamped in black ink and then colored with an assortment of alcohol markers. We have a lot of wildflowers that grow in the Utah mountains, so I thought it would be fun to color them to look like some of my favorites! I used a white gel pen on the leaves to give them some extra detail and dimension.
I attached the flowers using foam squares and then added a few white Nuvo drops here and there for extra detail. I also added a trio of sparkling clear sequins for some shine! The entire panel is attached to a standard A2 top folding card base. I had so much fun creating this card!
