Good morning everyone!
Stephanie again with you today here at SugarPea Designs 🙂 After yesterday’s fun-filled post with not one, but FIVE videos featuring the latest release, I thought we’d keep things cool with a colorful layered card.
With this past week-end sale on paper pads (didn’t see it? make sure to follow our Facebook page for all promotions and giveaways!), I really wanted to play with the Whatever The Weather Patterned Paper Collection.
Isn’t it super cheery and colorful? Plus, I love how you can easily match the colours from the paperpads to Copic markers, the way I did with the Pucker Up stamp set.
I first started by stamping the pitcher and the juicer onto some Cryogen White cardstock, then coloured them with the markers I just mentionned above. After that, I die-cut them with the matching SugarCut (so useful and a real time-saver!), and put them aside while I did the card itself.
I folded a 4½”x11″ piece of white 100lbs cardstock in two to create the cardbase. I like how this material is so sturdy! Then, I die-cut a panel from the SugarCut – Arrow Cover Plate into the stripe pattern paper. Oh! always keep those extra bits from die-cutting aside, as you can easily reuse them in a shaker project or as a finishing touch 🙂 My two-cents!
After mounting the panel onto the cardbase with some foam tape for extra dimension, I die-cut two circles with the SugarCuts – Zig Zag Stitched Circles in order to center all my coloured pieces together. And what’s a card without a good sentiment, right? I especially love the font on this one from the same stamp set, so I stamped it onto a white tag done using the SugarCut – With Love Tag and completed it with a red polka dot heart and green branches.
I added a few white Nuvo Drops here and there, and that was it!
Ready to give it a try? Make sure you come and show us the result on our Facebook group, where LOTS of inspiration happen!
