Blooming Happy Thoughts

Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day. I’m so happy to be back with you again. I don’t know about you, but there is something about some well chosen words and a beautiful card to make you smile! I love writing and reading, and sometimes they bring such joy; that was the idea behind this card – that flowers and butterflies were just bursting forth from the words typed on the typewriter.

I’ve used 2 sets that whilst aren’t new, are two of my favourites and the You’re My Type dies are used for tags, Christmas, Birthdays..you name it! I began by stamping lots of flowers and butterflies from Meadow Motifs Stamp set. They are such a beautiful set to colour and after trimming them all out, I decided to have some of the butterflies coming off the card. I love using beyond the card base and as long as you think about the envelope you’re going to use and make sure it fits, you’ll have no problem. I just use very thin strips of acetate (you could use old packaging etc) and add the butterflies to the top of each strip.

You need to secure the bottom ends. I used some red liner tape and made sure the ends were hidden where the typewriter was going to be. I found some little left over bits of cardstock to match my colour scheme and assembled the pieces. I wanted a sentiment to match the ‘happy’ vibe of the card so went with one from the matching set; You’re My Type Stamp set. Then using foam pads and arranging all the flowers and leaves, I adhered everything down and placed the typewriter on the top.

It really was a fun make! You might spy a few mini hearts that are part of the You’re My Type die set and are super useful for adding little embellishments on your other cards. Let’s not talk about the fact that this card is actually back to front or that I caught a small section with some glue and whilst removing it I managed to rub the card surface! Let’s just say thank goodness for editing programmes!

Whilst I was colouring, I wanted to add a little extra to a matching envelope. I used some of the Tiffany Envelopes (who wouldn’t want a card wrapped in a Tiffany coloured envelope!!) I added one of the flowers onto the back for a fun finishing touch.

I absolutely loved creating this project which I hope brings as much joy to my friend as I had making it! Looking forward to seeing you for my last project as a guest here. See you very soon! Keren x
