Celebrating You

Hello and welcome!

Tatiana is here with you and I’m super excited to be featured on SugarPea Designs blog!!! Today I came up with a clean and simple birthday card featuring some super adorable critters from Strike Up The Band stamp set.

To start, I die cut all the critters I needed for this project using the coordinating Strike Up The Band SugarCut along with a few birthday accessories from Elephant Parade SugarCut  I worked on Neenah Solar White paper since it’s copic friendly and made the stamping with a copic friendly dye black ink using the open images from Strike Up The Band and Elephant Parade stamp sets. Next I colored all the elements with copic markers.

In case you’re interested, here’re all the exact colors of copic markers used on the card: E30-E31-E35-E37; Y11-Y17-Y18; RV0000-RV00-RV02-RV10; YG00-YG01-YG17-YG25; V01-V05; YR00-YR02-YR04-YR07-YR09; B21-B24; R000-R11-R12; YR30-YR31; T0-T1-T3-T5.

The background was framed using a stitched rectangle from Card Front Element Builder SugarCut and then divided into a sky and a ground portions using a curved die from the same Card Front Element Builder set. I gently inked both die cut parts of the background using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks. I also flicked a few tiny water drops on top for more interest. The sentiment from Strike Up The Band set was simply stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White paper that was colored with YR02 copic marker for a perfect match. I shaped into a fish-taled banner using a pair of small sharp scissors. Last but not least I added a bit more of green to the scene by adhering some tiny leaves and branches die cut from Envelope Liner SugarCut.

That’s all for today! Hope this simple birthday card will inspire you! As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

Hugs,

Tatiana
