Heart-Blog-Seperater

With the school year quickly drawing to a close, I harass encourage my kids to read during the summer to maintain and improve their reading skills.  Lucky for me, they share my love for reading and can often be found reading a book all on their own.  I created these fun bookmarks for each of them, using the over the page style bookmark with the SugarCuts – Brainy Bookmarks die as well as images and sentiments from the Read Between the Lines stamp set.

SugarPea Designs - Read Between the Lines Bookmarks by Wendy Ramlakhan

Although I now do some of my reading on my iPad, it can’t replace the joy I have when I’m holding an actual book in my hands – so I had created a bookmark just for ME!

SugarPea Designs - I Like BIG Books bookmark by Wendy Ramlakhan

As you can see, this flirty girl perched upon a stack of periodicals is an excellent fit when used with the more classic styled bookmark from the SugarCuts – Brainy Bookmarks die.  I heat embossed one of my favorite sentiments from the I Like BIG Books stamp set with white embossing powder onto a base of black cardstock.  I created a fun banner accent up top with the SugarCuts – Gift Tag and then added the smaller sized glasses from the SugarCuts – Brainy Bookmarks die above the sentiment.

And because I know that bookmarks in general need to stand up to lots of use and abuse, especially from kids – I gave the bookmarks support by first cutting heavy weight chipboard to be used as the base/foundation and then adhered the lighter weight patterned papers and cardstock onto it.  Which leads to our next introduction.

We are proud to introduce our heavy weight, 30 point 5×7 Chipboard Stacks.   Our Chipboard Stacks are a blank slate and ready for your imagination.  Create albums, frames, or use with your dies for card making, scrapbooking and other projects. The possibilities are truly endless.  Chipboard Stacks are sold 10 sheets to a package for $1.95

Beautiful sets and dies. Just in time for summer reading programs and Woot Woot…my summer Women’s Bible Study. Can’t you just envision a bookmark with a nerdy gal and the sentiment, “I love big books and I cannot lie…right in the middle of the Bible. What fun. Hope I win it in time to get some made.
