July Guest Designer ~ Carisa Zglobicki

Hi everyone! All good things must come to an end so here is my final post with you this month as a Guest Designer for SugarPea Designs. I had so much fun creating my card this week using more  items from the June release!

I absolutely love how this card came out today and it really is simple to create – if you don’t mind a little bit of fussy cutting! The inspiration for this card really was the Easily A’moose’d stamp set along with the Happy Camper paper pad. When this was being released last month, I stopped in my tracks every time I saw the star paper. I love the glow around the larger stars! I started by stamping my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Copic Xpress It Blending Carstock. Then I colored the moose using E33, E35, E37, E39 for the body and E51, E53, E55 for the antlers. I stamped the little bird from the same set to look like it was perched on the antler and colored it with E97, R27 and E09.

Like I mentioned before, I loved the star paper but as I was flipping through, I also loved the paper with the tent and campfire little scene so in order to use both, I pulled out my craft knife in order to cut out the middle for the stars to peek through. It wasn’t too hard – just a little patience required and I am really happy with how it turned out.

I needed a place to stamp my sentiment so I die cut a simple circle but wanted to add a little texture to make it look like a moon. I pulled out a stencil and used some Distress Inks to create a moon. In hindsight, I wish I would have added a few water droplets but it’s ok the way it is. Then I stamped my favorite sentiment from this set on it. We LOVE Star Wars around here so there wasn’t any doubt which sentiment I was going to reach for first! I used a bit of dimensional adhesive to put my card together and it was done! I filmed my process for you as well today and hope you’ll enjoy watching it come together. You can watch it HERE or on my YouTube channel.

I hope you enjoyed my cards this month! Thank you so much again to SugarPea Designs for inviting me! I had a blast designing with this latest release!

Thanks,

Carisa
