Let’s stay home

Hello my crafty friends, I’am so happy to be back on the SugarPea Designs blog, showing you a new project.

The Let’s Stay Home set reminds me of a cozy and warm space where you want to spend the whole day. It’s the perfect set for the situation we are living right now.

But enough said, let’s jump over to see how I made this cozy card.

To begin, I cut a sheet of heavyweight white cardstock down to an A2 card panel.

I then started to ink blend the white panel using some distress inks. I used a light brown at the bottom and then changing to a darker one on the top, just to give it some dimension and it should look like the floor and a wall.

After the background was done, I stamped all the images you can see on the card with black ink on a piece of white cardstock and color them using alcohol markers.

Next, it was time to cut everything out. You could use the coordinating dies from this set or also fussy cut everything out. I glued everything on the ink blended background using some liquid glue, but for the lights and the dog, I used some foam tape.

After I glued everything on, I still needed a sentiment. There are some very nice sentiments in the Let’s Stay Home set, but I thought this one would fit perfect: Staying home is the new going out. I mean, it’s just perfect, because I’ve been staying at home for a long time, too.

So I stamped the sentiment using some embossing ink and heat embossed it in white. To finish the card, I adhered the finished panel onto a piece of kraft cardstock and then onto a white card base.

And that’s it my crafty friends. I really hope you like this card and I can’t wait to see you next week with another project. Thanks so much for stopping by and wish you all a wonderful day and stay safe and healthy.
