Light Blub Moments with Lisa

Hi, it’s Lisa Lara with my Light Bulb Moments post for today.

Oh do I have something fun for you……….an interactive slider card and shape card in one!

 I made a slider using SugarPea Designs products I already had.

Yep, I did a happy dance when I realized I could and surprised I never thought of it before. One of those DUH or “LIGHT BULB” moments (all pun intended) ha ha ha.

So here is my front panel 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and my card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 A2 card with fold at top.

(They are separate from each other).

My front panel I first lined up and used the largest die in the SugarCuts Zig Zag Stitched Rectangles.  I then rounded the top corners only with a 1/2″ corner rounder punch then used the

SugarCuts Gift Tag die to cut a small rectangle from the bottom.

On my card base, I rounded the top corners just like the front panel then lined up the front panel right on top of my card base to use as a guide for the gift tag die placement.  If it does not cut all the way through, take off the front panel piece and run through again once or twice.

Next, on my front panel ONLY.

First, I centered the rounded slot die from SugarCuts – Layered Treat Labels die and cut out.  Then I Heat Embossed my sentiment from the Happy Mail stamp set using white embossing powder (making sure it would clear the envelope die once adhered to the penny).

Here I turned my front panel over to its back.

I used 2 LAYERS of doubled sided foam tape.  (if you have a roll like I used it is easiest to roll some out and fold over to make a long piece then cut what you need from it).  I put my penny centered on my cut out slot (where the penny will be) then adhered my tape making sure it would not interfere with the movement of the penny once the card is assembled.  Then I rubbed the sides (exposed sticky edges) with my anti-static embossing pouch to removed stickyness only where the penny might touch.   (you can also use baby powder with a brush or a powder brush tool).

 I have NOT YET adhered the front panel.

I cut out 3 of these cute envelopes using SugarCuts – Special Delivery Accents die.

Two from white cardstock and one from designer patterned paper. I adhered the patterned paper envelope to the white cardstock envelope then adhered only the bottom of  a white cardstock envelope to it. So it looks like an envelope with a liner. (this is the front view of the envelope adhered to the penny that is in the back by a small piece of 2 layers of double sided foam tape).

Here is the back view of the penny adhered to the envelope by 2 layers of  double sided foam tape. Remember to rub the powder as before all around the edges of that small piece so it slides freely in the slot.
