Light Bulb Moment

Good morning! Ardyth here with the first Light Bulb Moment for 2018!

I don’t know about you, but where I live, it is COLD right now. I live in Canada, and we know cold, especially at this time of year, but this deep freeze has been worse and longer than usual! Christmas is over and the nights are still long and dark.

I know just the thing – how about some sunshine!

SugarPea’s Star Burst Cover Plate is the perfect way to create your own sunshine! I started with a white panel and blended yellow inks over it, in a circular motion. I then cut the panel with the Cover Plate, and kept all the pieces to lay back into the panel.

I created a white card base, and covered the front of it with Be Creative Tape. This makes laying the sun rays back into the panel very simple, with no need to glue each one individually. For some added interest, I used small dimensionals only the outside edge of each ray. This gives a bit of dimension.

I added my sentiment and some flowers and a partial leaf from Tropic Like it’s Hot, and some sparkle on the popped up rays with some Diamond Stickles.

I’m feeling warmer already!

LOVE the bright, cheerful colors! Alaska is also cold and dark right now. This is a great pick me up. 🙂

Beautiful card ! The idea of the foam pads is really clever and the effect is really excellent, I love it and will keep it preciously.

Thanks, Isabelle! It’s always fun to try something just a little different, and see how it works out.

Super cute, quick and easy! It is very cold where I live, as well. Over the weekend, the temps are supposed to get to the 30’s. It’s a heat wave!

Quick and easy cards are the best! Your 30 is our 0 (Celsius), and that would definitely be a heat wave for us as well! Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
