Snowflake Tag Boxes

Hello and Welcome! It’s Kelly here today with a fun little project that I am excited to share with you! I absolutely love giving handmade gifts and it is one of the main reasons why I became a Papercrafter. My project today showcases the new Christmas Tag Greetings stamp set as well as the coordinating Snowflake Tag Sugar Cut, but in a way that you may not have expected. I knew that I wanted to make a little box to hold these magnetic clothespins and I knew that I wanted it to have a tag. The tag from the Christmas Tag Greetings would be too large for my project, so….I shrunk it! It’s no secret that I  LOVE Shrinky Dinks and a tiny little tag was the perfect solution!

I simply die cut the shrink plastic, stamped it like I wanted and then shrunk it with my heat tool. So, so easy! I also took the opportunity to use a large snowflake stamp from Flurry of Warm Wishes to stamp as well and it looks so cute in miniature form! The “I made this” sentiment is perfect for today’s project, too!

The clothespins are covered in some assorted papers from the Spots and Striped Pastel Paper Pad as well as a piece from the Sugar and Spice paper pad . I also die cut a glittery snowflake using the Sugar Cuts from the Snowflake Tag set to glue to the clothespins as well as a tiny jingle bell from my stash. The back of them has some self adhesive magnetic tape on the top and bottom so they will stick to the fridge or magnetic board.

The box bases are made from a 5 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch square, scored at 1 1/4 inches on each side. The box top is a 4 5/8 inch square scored at 3/4 inch on each side. Fold at the score marks with a bone folder and then cut tabs at each corner. Secure with Scor Tape.

I also flecked some Pearl Watercolor paint onto the tops of each box for some added shine. The tiny tags are threaded with silver cord and a jingle bell attached to the bows. I also glued some glittery snowflakes to the bows for some added shine. I can’t wait to give these to my friends this Holiday season!
