Hi everyone! Jennifer Timko here with today’s inspiration. Now that winter is squarely upon us, I like the idea of celebrating the transition from winter to spring. Don’t get me wrong, I actually like winter but something about when things start to bud and get green is really special.
The starting point for my card is the gorgeous SugarCut – Birch Forest die. I loved this the second I saw it and thought it would be pretty if I just added a touch of color. I cut it from white card stock and then added Copic coloring. I tried to mimic a watercolor look but just touching on color to the leaves and leaving them a little variegated. A combination of browns and warm greys were nice to add the birch details.
After debating what kind of background I wanted, I opted to use a plain kraft card base to keep the focus on the front die. The sentiment is from the Floral Envie Stamp Set and is super with that mixed font. All I needed for embellishment was a bit of twine to tie to the top of the card. Thanks so much for stopping in today. We are so grateful for all of you!
