Sending You Hugs & Kisses

Hi all. Vera here. Happy New Year. Since it’s my first time posting here in 2021, I can still wish you this, even though we’re on day 7th of 2021. Hubby and I had a quiet new year’s eve celebration, just staying at home with the doggies & watched TV. LOL, we thought it’s quite an achievement that we stayed up till midnight!

Anyway, with the long weekend, I also managed to spend sometime in the craft room and made the card for today. Let’s get on with it, shall we?

I couldn’t resist to play with my favorite set, Meadow Motifs. I just love this set. I started by stamping the flowers, die cut them with the coordinating dies. Colored them with Copic markers. Put them aside. Next, I created the background on the card base using white ink on Leaf Canopy Stencil.

Once that done, I added a strip of cardstock on the lower part of the card base. Then arrange the flowers on the card. I decided to add metallic watercolor to the leaves and in person, you could see the color shifting from the metallic paint. Check out my post on Instagram as I will posted a short video, where you can really see the shimmer & the color shifting.

Finish the card by adding sentiment. I used the sentiments from Sentiments of Love set. I have to say, I tend to use soft colors and I feel like this card is a bit outside my comfort zone, since I used dark color cardstock as base. But hey, that’s the good thing about creating, right? To keep trying and step out of your comfort zone here and there.

Well peeps, that’s all from me today. I hope you enjoy today’s inspiration and wish you all the best for 2021.

Your card is beautiful. You mentioned that you used white ink on your background with the stencil. Yet, the background is a beautiful blue. Where is the white stenciling? Thank you.

It looks as if white CS was used as your base, stamped with ink using your stencil, then, applied ink with perhaps the blender brushes to blend the blue ink evenly over your stenciled ink, and your card base. Some of the leaves on the white card base are showing a lovely lighter colour.
