SugarPea Designs is so excited to be celebrating our 1st Birthday – and what an amazing year it has been!! I vividly remember the overwhelming excitement and nervousness I felt, when I took the leap of faith to live out my passion for stamping and paper crafting to launch SugarPea Designs. I cannot begin to express how immensely grateful I am for the amount of support, enthusiasm, and sheer warmth that I have been shown over this past year.
I’m indebted to all of our wonderful fans, customers and designers (past & present) who have lent their incredible talent to make this dream of mine come true. I am humbled to be here and I look forward to what the future holds for SugarPea Designs.
We are celebrating this momentous occasion with a Blog Hop featuring our AMAZING SugarPea design team and some very talented Special Guests!
I’m going to kick things off with a very special birthday card of my own. This card is for my SUPER hubby, who’s birthday is tomorrow!! He really is My Hero and I couldn’t do it without him. He is so unbelievably supportive and is the first one to roll up his sleeves and help out with anything that I need. From packing orders, post office runs, cooking dinner to taking the kids out for the afternoon so I can get some work done. He’s even offered to color or make cards, but trust me…no one wants to see that!! LOL
I started by stamping the My Hero image directly onto cardstock and then created a spotlight background with distress inks right over top and then used the SugarCuts – Hearts Journal Card die to crop it into a card panel. I created “star dust” by flicking a small wet paint brush dipped in Confetti White, Perfect Pearls. I brushed a (clear) Wink of Stella pen over the stamped stars on the card base and added a little more shimmer to his t-shirt and sentiment with a Pilot Silver Marker. This card is really quite sparkly, but not in a girly way. 🙂
I know lots of people struggle with creating masculine cards, but I LOVE them. Something about the simplicity of the designs and color palettes make it joy rather than a chore for me. When SugarPea Designs was still in the planning stages, I knew that I wanted to offer fresh and fun masculine images that would be perfect for grown men and boys alike. My Hero, from our BeanStalk Collection has remained a fan favorite (and mine as well) since it’s release last April. I can’t get enough of this guy, from his sweet spectacles down to his untied shoes – he makes those hard to create masculine cards such a breeze.
Now you can’t have a Birthday Bash without prizes and there are lots of prizes to be won along the way!
