For my project today I chose to make a shaker card….I am having soo much fun creating shakers with any possible theme I can think of.

-7

I start out with an idea , then I stamp my images , choose papers and start the steps to create a window.

-18

I used our newest SugarCut Heart Journal Card die to create my window, I generally use washi tape to hold it in place.

-16

I adhere the acetate then add foam tape .

-14
I also like to cut out a frame of colored cardstock to cover the foam tape and make the inside of the card look just as nice as the outside.  I also rub the acetate with my embossing buddy to get rid of any static.  Another cool tip is to take a q- tip and dip it in baby powder, and run it along the inside of the tape and it will stop your shaker bits ie – sequins, micro beads or in my case mail from sticking to the sides.
-15
For decorating the front I decided to cut another frame from designer paper.
-13
I colored my image with Copics.  Did you all notice that I stamped and colored all those pieces of mail and never realized that they were stamped upside down?  But it didn’t matter because I was hand cutting them all out anyways.
-11

Once I figure out where all the images are going  then I’ll add the pieces of mail, close the shaker with another piece of acetate, adhere the images to the front and finish the inside with my sentiment and another cute embellishment…a letter …cut using the Sugar Cut Special Delivery accents envelope.

  1. Adorable, Wendy! I love the way you used the mail behind the shaker window – genius! Great colors, too! P.S. Being an empty nester is awesome (once you get past the transition!!). Hang in there.

  2. Oh my goodness, how cute is this!!!! I would never have thought about the letters being used this way – SO creative! Adorable card, and what a fun new set!
