Hello there! Kerin here with you and today I’m sharing an easy way to color in the large flower from the gorgeous new Pretty Peony set!
I know Copic markers can intimidate many people, so today I chose to color in my flower using watercolors. I find that the key to using watercolors is to layer on the color. I use a heat tool in between layers to dry the image, then once it’s dry I’ll go back in with more paint to darken, or more water to lighten in areas. Here’s a close up of the flower above so that you can see the layering:
For the background I just used a bit of light blue, then splattered on other shades of darker blue. I added a strip of vellum, then one of my favorite new SugarCut dies on top, “hello” using a little textured card stock to give it a little more dimension.
