Hi, SugarPea friends! It’s Amy with you here today, and I’ve got a fun card to kick off summer. I’ve used lots of SugarCuts on today’s card, old and new. I hope you’ll enjoy my creative process as I share with you how I stretched my brain and stamping supplies.
I’ve had watermelon on my mind since seeing it at the grocery store the other day and started wondering how I could create a paper slice of my own using SugarCuts dies. Then it dawned on me that the new Eyelet Cover Plate would be perfect for the watermelon seeds! The rest of the watermelon was a cinch using the Zig Zag Stitched Circles, and I love the added texture of the zig zag edge. I cut two sizes of circles in pink and green and then layered them before trimming them to a half circle.
Once I had my watermelon assembled, I created a sentiment combo with my favorite Hello and ‘sunshine’ from Sending Sentiments. I love all of the variety in this new sentiment set. Finally, I layered my little watermelon scene on a SugarCut – Postage Stamp panel and then popped that layer on a white A2 card base layered with a white SugarCuts – Diagonal Striped Cover Plate panel.
Thanks so much for visiting me here on the SugarPea Designs blog. I hope you’ve enjoyed a slice of my summer inspiration and look for fun new ways to stretch your SugarCut dies.
~Amy
