This adorable image was illustrated by my dear friend, Vera Yates. She is a huge pug lover and when she asked me to design a stamp set for her I immediately said, “YES!” I fell in love with his adorable expression, he looks rather surprised to be floating away. LOL
My starting point for my card began with stamping and then masking the pug and grass images from For Pugs Sake so that I could add our soon to be previewed English Brick Wall Stencil behind them. I also taped the panel along the stitch line with low tack medical tape, so that my everything would stay neatly within the inside area. Next, I sponged/brushed the brick wall design onto the Scalloped and Stitched panel from the Card Front Element Builder SugarCut die set with Fire Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink.
I stamped the little snail to be atop of the Brick Wall and colored all of the images with Copic markers. I added the SugarCut – Thanks word die for my large greeting – cut from the Copper Glitter Cardstock that is part of our 20 Sheet Glitter Cardstock Sampler Pack. The stamped coordinating greeting from For Pugs Sake was stamped with clear Versamark ink and heat embossed in white.
I loved the way the brick wall turned out on the card front that I sponged/brushed the same distress ink colors onto a lighter weight cardstock (60lbs.) and then die cut it with the Envelope Liner SugarCut and added it to a Pine Forest Envelope. It perfectly compliments the card and provides a lovely finishing touch!
