You Make Me Smile

Hello! Ardyth here to share some projects we made on the weekend. This past Monday was Family Day in parts of Canada, so my 14 year old daughter Kate and I had some extra time together. She loves to craft and has been dying to play with her favourites from SugarPea Designs’ latest release – Storybook Circus and the Popcorn Treat Box SugarCut. We decided that we would each make a project using these products (and ZigZag Stitched Rectangles SugarCuts) to show you how versatile they are!

I chose to use these carnival products in a non-carnival way! I started by sponging a panel of white cardstock with distress inks before using the largest 2 of the ZigZag Stitched Rectangles to create a frame. I used the heart dies from the Popcorn Treat Box SugarCut set to cut out lots of hearts to fill my frame. I used the oval die from the same set to create my sentiment panel. My sentiment is from Storybook Circus.

Kate went a more-expected route with these goodies:

Kate cut the Popcorn Treat Box and coloured the stripes with markers (so they would all line up – I can’t think where her OCD tendencies could come from! lol!) and adhered the ‘half-box’ to her card. Then she added the elephant and lion. She created an admission ticket with the smallest ZigZag Stitched Rectangle die and stamped it with an appropriate sentiment from Storybook Circus. She then filled her treatbox with fresh, hot popcorn. Not sure how she thinks she will mail this, but it’s certainly fun!

Kate and I hope you’re inspired to craft with a friend or family member! It’s a great way to spend time together!

Looks like you and Kate had a fabulous time creating these fun cards Ardyth! Love your sponging and Kate’s popcorn–she might just have to eat it instead of mailing it–lol!
