I started by sponging a simple outer space background onto Bristol Smooth cardstock with Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot distress inks. I then flicked water from a paint brush and Hero Arts Unicorn White spray onto the background to create a galaxy of stars. I then broke out my Copic markers and colored all of the little planets from To Infinity & Beyond as well as the image from To The Moon and Back sets.
I originally set out to just randomly place the little planets on the card front but my son walked into my studio as I had this laid out on my desk and he commented that it would be cool if the planets could move around the sun. Now, why hadn’t I thought of that?!?! I then set out to make my very first spinner card by using 2 different sized circle dies to create the track for the planets. Pennies and foam tape were attached to the back of each of the planets so that they could freely spin around the sun and moon image in the center. Each image was cut using the coordinating SugarCut dies.
Our team has some amazing and creative inspiration for you using the products featured here today. You can visit each of our designers’ blogs below for details on their projects. And while you’re there be sure to leave a sweet comment for them, giving you an extra entry to win today’s giveaway prize.
Thank you so much for joining us for Day 1 of sneak peeks! REMEMBER!! The entire Summer Product Release will be available for purchase on Friday, August 24th, 6PM EST.
Don’t forget to leave a comment here on this blog for your chance to win. We’d love to hear what you think about all of the products that we are showcased today.
