Guest Designer ~ Emily Mydlowski

Hi Friends and Happy Monday! It’s Emily Mydlowski (@popsofpaper) and I’m here this week sharing several cards using the Meadow Motifs and Everyday Sentiment stamps. The Meadow Motifs are so gorgeous, I couldn’t just stop at one card so I created two card sets to share with you today.

When I create card sets, my favorite thing to do is stamp several images on a large sheet of cardstock, color all the images at once using a common color palette (Kraft, White and pretty pastels) and fussy cut or die cut the images and then arrange them into card designs using other stamps and die elements.

The Coordinating Die for the Everyday Sentiments is such a great solution for mass producing card sets. I kept the die together so I could cut several size sentiment strips at once. When I found the right sentiment for my card, I stamped directly to the matching size die cut strip.

I used the following Copic Colors for my cards this week:

Polka Dots and Stripes

For this card set, I created a small gift card along with a full size A2 Anniversary card. The Meadow Motifs paired so nicely with crisp black and white stripes and polka dot impressions from the Build a Background-Basics Stamp Set. I absolutely love the versatility of the Build a Background Stamp Set, but I also love stripes, dots, chevron and hearts…I pretty much sneak one of these shapes into my cards.

Sending My Love with Hearts and Florals

For this card set, I used the SugarCut-Postage Stamp Die Set for my card panel layers and focused on arranging the Meadow Motifs to the Heart Die Cuts. For the Sending All My Love Card, I stamped the Heart border several times from the Build a Background-Basics Stamp Set and heat embossed with white embossing powder on vellum. The Sending word die was die cut in gold sparkle cardstock for a little extra pop.

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and it inspires you to combine your stamps and dies in fun new ways. Thanks for stopping by and can’t wait to see you next week.

Big Paper Hugs!

Emily
