The main image panel on this card is cut from the SugarCuts – Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle die set.  I love how these dies can easily and quickly dress up a card.

SugarPea Designs - Anchored by Wendy Ramlakhan

I was REALLY in the mood to color when I sat down to create this card – so I decided to go with fanciful hair and skin colors with my Copics.  I added a thick layer of Star Dust Stickles to her tail and used clear Wink of Stella in her hair.  The background was created by layering distress inks (from top to bottom) and then splattering it with water and paint brush to create the water droplets/bubbles.  I then took the same brush loaded with more water to make the beams of light coming through the water.  After I heat embossing my sentiment in white I couldn’t resist adding even more sparkle (you can really never have too much, can you?) by spritzing the entire background with Sheer Shimmer Spritz.  Once dry, I fussy cut the entire image which I then popped up with foam tape.  I wish you could all see just how sparkly this is in really life.

I am not a huge mermaid fan as a rule but she looks lovely with all the bright colours.
(I was unable to access two of the DT’s blogs to leave them a comment. I tried a few times with no luck, all I got was text all over their page. I’ll try again later.)
Thanks for sharing this great release.

Beautiful!! I LOVE your background and how you colored the anchor (it looks a bit rusty). I have to admit that I like my images to be cute rather than so sexy, but I really love the sentiments in this set.
